Tips & Substitutions

For a flavor boost, consider adding Worcestershire sauce to the mixture along with the ketchup. You can substitute the green pepper with chopped mushrooms or zucchini if desired. If you prefer a spicy kick, adding a dash of hot sauce can elevate the dish. This recipe can also be adapted with ground turkey for a lighter option.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these burgers over a bed of rice or mashed potatoes for a hearty meal. They pair wonderfully with Western Potato Rounds for a satisfying side. You can also top them with shredded cheese or serve with a fresh salad to balance the flavors. Don’t forget to pour the rich sauce over everything for added taste!

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover burgers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. When reheating, place the burgers in a pan over low heat to maintain their moisture, adding a splash of water to the pan and covering it to create steam. This will help keep them juicy.
