Ingredients

  • 1 c. margarine or butter
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 c. flour, sifted
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 4 c. sliced, peeled apples

Instructions

  1. Cream the margarine or butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time until well combined.
  3. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, beating until smooth.
  5. Fold in the sliced, peeled apples gently.
  6. Pour the batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  7. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
