Dried Fruit Spice Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. dates
  • 1/2 c. prunes
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • dash of cloves
  • 1/2 c. nuts, chopped
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 c. oat bran uncooked cereal

Instructions

  1. Combine raisins, dates, prunes and water.
  2. Bring to boil. Remove from heat.
  3. Add oil.
  4. Cool, add egg.
  5. In large bowl put all dry ingredients, spices, vanilla and nuts.
  6. Mix with fruit.
  7. Pour into 9 x 13 x 2-inch greased pan.
  8. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.
