Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 3 tablespoons hot milk
  • 1 egg yolk
  • pie filling of choice
  • oil for deep frying

Instructions

  1. Cut butter into flour with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  2. Combine hot milk and egg yolk in a small bowl.
  3. Pour the milk mixture over the flour mixture and stir to combine well.
  4. Roll out small portions of the dough on a floured surface.
  5. Place pie filling in the center of each dough circle.
  6. Fold over and seal the edges to enclose the filling.
  7. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown and crispy.
