Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 tablespoons cocoa
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1/2 cup Crisco
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and sugar; set aside.
  2. Boil cocoa, water, margarine, and Crisco over low heat.
  3. Pour the boiled mixture over the flour and sugar mixture.
  4. Add eggs, buttermilk, baking soda, and vanilla; mix well.
  5. Pour into a greased and floured sheet cake pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 15 minutes.
  7. Frost the cake while warm.
