Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted self-rising flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 cup oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 (4 oz.) jars baby food prunes
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Combine the sifted self-rising flour, sugar, cinnamon, and cloves in a large mixer bowl; mix well.
  2. Add oil, eggs, and prune puree; beat until well combined.
  3. Stir in chopped pecans.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch cake pan.
  5. Bake at 325°F for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Immediately cover the cake with foil.
  7. Optional: drizzle with your favorite glaze before serving.
  8. Let the cake cool completely before slicing.
