Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb ground round
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
  • 2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 3/4 cup uncooked brown rice
  • 2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (15 oz) can whole kernel corn, drained

Instructions

  1. Lightly brown the ground round in a Dutch oven.
  2. Add chopped onion and green pepper; cook until tender.
  3. Pour in tomato sauce and water; bring to a boil.
  4. Stir in uncooked brown rice, chili powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 50 minutes.
  6. Stir in drained corn and additional water if needed.
  7. Cover and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
