Ingredients

  • 4 1/2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. milk
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • dash of pepper
  • dash of paprika
  • 1 c. soft bread crumbs
  • 6 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
  • 1/2 to 3/4 c. grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Prepare a sauce by melting 1 1/2 tablespoons butter in a saucepan, then stirring in flour, milk, salt, pepper, and paprika until thickened.
  2. In a casserole dish, melt the remaining butter in the oven, then sprinkle about 1/4 cup of bread crumbs on the bottom.
  3. Layer the remaining bread crumbs, sliced hard-boiled eggs, grated cheese, and sauce in the casserole dish.
  4. Top the casserole with the buttered bread crumbs.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) until the sauce begins to bubble and the top is browned, about 35 minutes.
