Ingredients

  • 8 slices bread, buttered on both sides
  • 1 lb. bacon
  • 8 oz. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 c. milk
  • 12 eggs
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. chopped green pepper

Instructions

  1. Line a 9 x 13-inch pan with slices of buttered bread.
  2. Cover the bread with fried crisp bacon and shredded Cheddar cheese.
  3. In a bowl, beat together milk, eggs, salt, and pepper.
  4. Add chopped onion and green pepper to the egg mixture and fold in canned mushrooms.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the layered bread, bacon, and cheese in the pan.
  6. Cover the pan and refrigerate overnight.
  7. Bake in the oven until set and golden before serving.
