Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 dozen tortillas
  • 1 can mushroom soup
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 onion, grated
  • 1 can Ortega green chile SALSA
  • 1 pound grated cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the chicken breasts and dice them into small pieces.
  2. Cut the tortillas into 1-inch squares.
  3. Mix the mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, milk, grated onion, chopped green chile SALSA, and its juice together to make the liquid mixture.
  4. Butter a large, shallow baking dish.
  5. Pour some of the liquid mixture into the bottom of the dish.
  6. Add a layer of tortilla squares over the liquid.
  7. Add a layer of diced cooked chicken over the tortillas.
  8. Repeat the layering process 2 or 3 times, ending with a layer of the liquid mixture on top.
  9. Sprinkle grated cheese evenly over the top layer.
  10. Cover and let stand in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
  11. Bake at 300°F (150°C) for 1 to 1.5 hours until hot and bubbly.
