Tips & Substitutions

For a nut-free version, substitute the almonds with pumpkin seeds or additional sunflower seeds. If you prefer a sweeter granola, increase the honey to 2/3 cup. To enhance flavor, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract or a pinch of salt. Remember to stir the granola every few minutes while it cooks to ensure even toasting.

Serving Suggestions

Enjoy this energy-packed granola as a breakfast cereal with milk or yogurt, or sprinkle it over smoothie bowls for added texture. It also pairs beautifully with Date Fruit Salad for a wholesome snack. Consider adding fresh fruit or a drizzle of nut butter for extra flavor and nutrition.

Storage & Reheating

Store the granola in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two weeks. For longer freshness, you can refrigerate it for up to a month. If you want to reheat and restore some crunchiness, spread it out on a baking sheet and warm it in a preheated oven at 300°F for about 10 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use other sweeteners instead of honey?

Yes, you can substitute honey with maple syrup or agave nectar for a vegan option. Keep in mind that the consistency of the granola may vary slightly, so you might need to adjust the amount of dry ingredients to maintain the right texture.

How can I make this granola gluten-free?

To make this granola gluten-free, ensure that you use certified gluten-free rolled oats. Most other ingredients in this recipe, like nuts and seeds, are naturally gluten-free, but always check labels to confirm.

Can I add other fruits or nuts?

Absolutely! Feel free to customize the granola by adding dried fruits like cranberries or figs, or different nuts such as walnuts or pecans. Just be mindful of the total volume to keep the balance of wet and dry ingredients.
