Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, softened
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups raisins
  • 8 oz self-rising flour
  • 2 oz stick margarine
  • 2 oz lard

Instructions

  1. Mix self-rising flour with margarine and lard until the consistency of bread crumbs.
  2. Add 1 or 2 teaspoons of cold water to the mixture.
  3. Mix into a stiff dough and roll out to form the pastry base.
  4. Bake the pastry base at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes.
