English Pear Pie features tender pears baked with a hint of lemon, topped with whipped cream and a rich caramel sauce, perfect for comforting desserts or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 3 English muffins
  • 29 oz. can pears
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • Cool Whip

Instructions

  1. Crumble the English muffins and set aside.
  2. Drain and chop the pears into small pieces and place them in a greased 9-inch or 10-inch pie plate.
  3. In a processor or blender, blend lemon juice, eggs, and sugar until combined.
  4. Add milk and blend again, then stir in the English muffin crumbs.
  5. Pour the mixture over the pears in the pie plate.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 55 minutes to 1 hour until set.
  7. Remove from oven and let cool on a plate.
  8. In a pan, melt margarine, then add brown sugar and whipping cream, bringing to a boil for 4 to 5 minutes.
  9. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  10. Serve by spreading Cool Whip on top of the cooled pie and pouring the caramel sauce over.
