Farmer'S Cookies
Farmer's Cookies are buttery, mildly sweet treats with a hint of lemon and vanilla, perfect for breakfast, tea time, or sharing with friends and family.

Instructions
- Sift the flour, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into a bowl.
- Work in the oleo (butter) into the dry ingredients as you would for pie crust.
- In a small bowl, beat the eggs with a fork until slightly blended.
- Add the buttermilk, vanilla extract, and lemon extract to the eggs.
- Pour the egg mixture into the flour and oleo mixture and blend well.
- The dough will be sticky.
- Refrigerate the dough for at least 3 hours or overnight.
- Roll out the dough on a floured board.
- Flour the rolling pin.
- Cut out cookies with a floured cutter.
- Sprinkle the cookies with sugar before baking at 400°F for 12 to 15 minutes, depending on thickness.
- Use a large cookie cutter for shaping.
- Serve the cookies with butter or jam.
