Fast Chicken Cordon Bleu

A quick and comforting dish featuring tender chicken breasts topped with ham and Swiss cheese in a creamy mushroom sauce, perfect for a family dinner.

Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1 clove crushed garlic
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 4 slices of ham
  • 4 slices of Swiss cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Melt 1/2 stick of margarine in a frying pan over low to medium heat.
  2. Add crushed garlic to the pan.
  3. Dip chicken breasts in beaten eggs, then in bread crumbs until lightly coated.
  4. Cook the breaded chicken breasts in the margarine until lightly browned on each side.
  5. Remove the chicken to a shallow baking dish.
  6. Pour cream of mushroom soup over the chicken breasts to cover them.
  7. Top each with a slice of ham and a slice of Swiss cheese.
  8. Bake in the oven at 350°F for 30 minutes.
  9. Serve immediately with rice or potatoes.
