Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion
  • 2 Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 3 Tbsp. water
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 large can fava beans
  • 1 Tbsp. red pepper liquid jar type
  • 1 Tbsp. parsley flakes
  • dash of nutmeg
  • dash of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Saute chopped onion in vegetable oil until translucent.
  2. Add 3 tablespoons of water and 1/4 cup ketchup, stir well and simmer.
  3. Add more water if needed to maintain consistency.
  4. Stir in red pepper, parsley flakes, nutmeg, and cinnamon.
  5. Cook for 5 minutes to let flavors meld.
  6. Add another 1/4 cup ketchup and the can of fava beans with juice.
  7. Simmer for about 5 more minutes before serving.
