Ingredients

  • 1 pita bread
  • 2 cups parsley
  • 1/2 cup mint leaves
  • 1/2 cup carrots, sliced
  • 3 cups tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 cup cucumber, sliced
  • 3 cups lettuce
  • 1 tablespoon sumaq
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup green onions, chopped
  • salt
  • 1 lemon juice (optional)
  • garlic (optional)

Instructions

  1. Roast the pita bread, then cube it and set aside.
  2. Wash all vegetables. Break the parsley and mint leaves off their stems.
  3. Slice the carrots and cucumbers.
  4. Cut the tomatoes into chunks.
  5. Tear the lettuce into pieces and chop the green onions.
  6. Mix all the prepared vegetables and herbs together in a large bowl.
  7. Add lemon juice (optional), olive oil, salt, sumaq (if available), and garlic (optional).
  8. Add the roasted bread 15 minutes before serving.
  9. Mix everything well before serving.
