Ingredients

  • 8 oz. ground beef
  • 1 green pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 8 oz. jar Cheez Whiz
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomato
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a skillet, stirring until crumbly; drain.
  2. Add chopped green pepper and onion; cook until tender, stirring frequently.
  3. Stir in half of the chili powder and Cheez Whiz.
  4. Cook until Cheez Whiz melts, stirring constantly.
  5. Stir in chopped tomato.
  6. In a mixer bowl, combine remaining Cheez Whiz, eggs, flour, salt, and milk; beat until smooth.
  7. Pour batter into a greased 9-inch pie plate and sprinkle with cornmeal.
  8. Spoon the ground beef mixture over the batter, leaving about 1 inch of space around the edge.
  9. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown.
