- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Combine all liquids: buttermilk, cooking oil, and eggs.
- Sift dry ingredients together: flour, soda, salt, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and allspice.
- Add dry ingredients to the liquids and mix well.
- Stir in chopped pecans and chopped fig preserves until well blended.
- Pour batter into a lightly greased and floured tube pan.
- Bake for 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
