Tips & Substitutions

For a heartier dish, consider adding diced bell peppers or mushrooms to the skillet while browning the meats. If you don’t have apricot or peach jam, any fruit preserves can be a great substitute. For more flavor, try adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika or a dash of Worcestershire sauce. If using fresh beans instead of frozen, adjust cooking times accordingly.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this comforting hodge podge with crusty bread or cornbread to soak up the delicious sauce. A simple green salad or steamed vegetables make great sides to balance the meal. This dish pairs beautifully with Dad'S Favorite Baked Beans for a hearty family gathering.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in a baking dish and cover with foil, then warm in the oven at 350°F (175°C) until heated through. Alternatively, you can microwave individual portions covered to prevent splatters.
