Ingredients

  • 2 lb. fish
  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1/2 c. celery leaves
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 3 onions
  • 1/4 c. butter
  • 1/4 tsp. white pepper
  • 1/2 c. white wine
  • 1 fish bouillon cube
  • 2 c. boiling water

Instructions

  1. Cut skinned and boned fish into 1 1/2 to 2-inch pieces.
  2. Peel and slice potatoes into 1/2-inch pieces.
  3. Crush the garlic clove.
  4. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  5. Add sliced onions and cook until translucent.
  6. Stir in garlic and cook for another minute.
  7. Add potatoes, bay leaf, celery leaves, salt, white pepper, fish bouillon cube, and boiling water.
  8. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until potatoes are tender.
  9. Add fish pieces and white wine; cook until fish is cooked through.
  10. Remove bay leaf, adjust seasoning if needed, and serve hot.
