Ingredients

  • 1 lb. flounder, haddock or sole fillets
  • 3/4 cup celery, chopped medium
  • 1/4 cup sliced onion
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 stick margarine or butter
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 lb. spaghetti, broken in thirds

Instructions

  1. Rinse the fish fillets and set aside.
  2. In a heavy pan, melt the margarine or butter and cook the chopped celery, sliced onion, and garlic powder until tender.
  3. Add the tomato sauce, salt, paprika, chili powder, and black pepper to the pan.
  4. Cover and simmer the mixture for 20 minutes.
  5. Add water and broken spaghetti to the pan.
  6. Mix well, cover, and cook until the spaghetti is firm and tender (al dente).
  7. Add the fish fillets to the stew.
  8. Cover and simmer until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  9. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top.
