A hearty five-layer casserole featuring seasoned ground beef, thinly sliced potatoes, onions, bell peppers, and melted Velveeta cheese, perfect for comforting family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 large potatoes
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 large bell pepper
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups shredded Velveeta cheese
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Spray a 9 x 13-inch glass casserole dish with nonstick spray.
  2. Mash the ground beef into the bottom of the prepared casserole dish.
  3. Peel potatoes and slice them thinly. Layer over the ground beef.
  4. Slice the onion into rings and place over the potatoes.
  5. Chop the bell pepper and distribute over the onions.
  6. Pour water evenly over the entire casserole.
  7. Sprinkle 2 cups of shredded Velveeta cheese on top.
  8. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  9. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.
