Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 packages yeast
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 1/4 cups flour

Instructions

  1. Scald the milk and let it cool to lukewarm.
  2. Stir in sugar, salt, and margarine until combined.
  3. Sprinkle the yeast into warm water and let it sit until frothy.
  4. Add the cooled milk mixture, beaten eggs, and 2 cups of flour; beat until smooth.
  5. Stir in enough remaining flour to make a soft dough.
  6. Knead the dough until elastic and smooth.
  7. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size.
  8. Punch down the dough and divide into rolls.
  9. Shape into individual rolls and place on a greased baking sheet.
  10. Let the rolls rise until doubled in size.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
