- Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).
- Layer sliced potatoes in an oiled baking dish, add bits of margarine, sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Add a layer of cooked hamburger meat, then sprinkle with salt and pepper.
- Layer sliced carrots, then add bits of margarine, salt, and pepper.
- Pour canned tomatoes over the vegetables, then add bits of margarine, salt, and pepper.
- Repeat layering as needed, finishing with a tomato layer on top.
- Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for about 1 hour.
