Ingredients

  • 1 flank steak
  • soy sauce
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 1/4 cups chopped shallots or green onions
  • 1 1/4 cups red wine
  • 1 stick butter
  • salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Brush the steak with soy sauce and sprinkle well with salt, freshly ground black pepper, and dried thyme, crumbled.
  2. Let the steak stand for an hour to marinate.
  3. Brush the steak again with soy sauce.
  4. Grill over brisk fire for 3 or 4 minutes on each side for rare steaks.
  5. Carve the steak with a sharp knife in thin slices on the diagonal.
