Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup pinto beans
  • 1/2 cup navy beans
  • 1/4 cup split peas
  • 1/4 cup lentils
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon summer savory
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried chives
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 cups blended tomatoes

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients except tomatoes in a large pot.
  2. Add 5 cups of water.
  3. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat to a simmer.
  4. Cook until the beans are soft.
  5. Add blended tomatoes and additional water to reach desired consistency.
  6. Season with salt to taste and serve.
