Ingredients

  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 1/2 lb. ground meat
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
  • 6 hot dog buns
  • 6 hot dogs
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 Tbsp. brown sugar
  • 1/2 to 1 tsp. vinegar

Instructions

  1. Mix 1/3 cup tomato soup, ground beef, salt, and 1 teaspoon chili powder and spread evenly on buns, making sure to cover the edges.
  2. Firmly press hot dogs into the meat on the buns and place on a broiler pan.
  3. Bake at 450°F for 12 to 15 minutes.
  4. Cook chopped onion and remaining chili powder in butter, then add the rest of the tomato soup and other ingredients; heat thoroughly.
  5. Serve the hot onion and sauce mixture over the baked burgers.
