Ingredients

  • 1 lb boned, skinned chicken or turkey breast, cut in bite-size pieces
  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1 tsp chicken bouillon
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 (15 oz) can black beans, rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz) can navy beans, rinsed
  • 1 (15 oz) can kidney or chili beans, undrained
  • 1 (15 oz) can whole tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (10 oz) can chopped tomatoes and green chilies, undrained
  • 1 (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, cook the chicken or turkey breast pieces and ground turkey until browned.
  2. Add minced garlic and chopped onion; cook until fragrant and onion is translucent.
  3. Stir in chicken bouillon, water, and all canned beans with their liquids, along with the whole tomatoes and chopped tomatoes with green chilies.
  4. Add tomato sauce, chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, and dry mustard; stir well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer uncovered for about 45 minutes to 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  6. Let the chili rest and develop flavors for at least one day before serving for best taste.
