Tips & Substitutions
For an extra layer of flavor, try adding some chopped green onions or cilantro to the filling before wrapping. If you're short on time, you can use pre-cooked shrimp or leftover roasted pork. Consider substituting the pork with chicken or tofu for a lighter alternative. If you prefer less heat, skip the MSG and adjust the seasoning to your taste.
Serving Suggestions
Serve fresh lumpia with a side of sweet chili sauce or vinegar for dipping. They pair wonderfully with lighter dishes like a fresh garden salad or steamed rice. For a unique twist, consider serving them alongside Pork Chops With Pears, Blue Cheese And Green Peppercorns for a delightful contrast in flavors.
Storage & Reheating
Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, gently steam the lumpia or warm them in a skillet over low heat to maintain their texture. Avoid microwaving, as it can make the wrapper soggy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I make the filling ahead of time?
Yes, you can prepare the filling a day in advance and store it in the refrigerator. Just make sure to wrap the lumpia right before serving to keep the wrappers fresh and pliable.
What can I use instead of pork?
You can substitute pork with chicken, beef, or even a plant-based protein like tofu. Each option will change the flavor, so adjust your seasonings accordingly to complement your chosen protein.
How do I make the wrappers from scratch?
To make wrappers, mix flour, water, and a pinch of salt to form a batter, then cook thin pancakes on a non-stick skillet. Allow them to cool before using. Homemade wrappers can enhance the freshness of your lumpia.
