Ingredients

  • 3 lb. cut-up frying chicken
  • 1/2 c. butter
  • 1/3 c. flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 c. milk
  • 1 c. dry bread crumbs
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1/8 tsp. poultry seasoning
  • 1/2 c. hot water
  • 1 medium onion

Instructions

  1. Use only the legs, wings, thighs, and breast of the chicken.
  2. Wash and dry the chicken pieces.
  3. Dip the chicken pieces into flour, then into the beaten egg mixed with milk.
  4. Dip the coated chicken into bread crumbs to coat thoroughly.
  5. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  6. Add chopped onion and cook until translucent.
  7. Add hot water, salt, pepper, and poultry seasoning to the skillet to make a gravy.
  8. Cook the chicken in the skillet until golden brown and cooked through, about 30-40 minutes.
  9. Serve hot with the onion gravy.
