Tips & Substitutions

For a crispier texture, ensure your oil is hot enough before frying the eggrolls. You can substitute shredded chicken with cooked ground pork or tofu for a vegetarian option. If you don't have green beans, snap peas or bell peppers work well too. Experiment with the filling by adding other vegetables or using leftover stir-fried chicken and vegetables.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these eggrolls with a side of sweet and sour sauce or soy sauce for dipping. They pair beautifully with Chinese Boneless Chicken or Marie'S Chicken Fried Rice for a complete meal. Garnish with fresh cilantro or green onions for added flavor and presentation.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftover fried eggrolls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in an oven at 375°F (190°C) for about 10-15 minutes to restore crispiness, rather than microwaving, which can make them soggy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make these eggrolls ahead of time?

Yes, you can prepare the filling and assemble the eggrolls ahead of time. Store them in the refrigerator for up to a day before frying. If you want to freeze them, make sure to freeze the uncooked eggrolls in a single layer and then transfer them to a bag; fry them straight from the freezer when ready to cook.

What oil is best for frying eggrolls?

Vegetable oil or peanut oil are ideal for frying eggrolls due to their high smoke points. Avoid olive oil as it has a lower smoke point and may impart a strong flavor. Always ensure the oil is hot enough before adding the eggrolls to achieve that perfect crispy exterior.

Can I bake these eggrolls instead of frying?

Yes, you can bake the eggrolls for a healthier option. Brush them lightly with oil and place them on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until they are golden brown and crispy.
