Ingredients

  • 18 eggs
  • 1 1/2 lb. flour
  • 1 1/2 lb. sugar
  • 1 1/2 lb. butter
  • 2 lb. raisins
  • 2 lb. currants
  • 1 1/2 lb. citron
  • 2 nutmegs
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 lb. almonds
  • 2 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp. mace
  • 1 tsp. cloves
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. ginger
  • 2 wine glasses wine

Instructions

  1. Let the mixture rise for about 3 hours.
  2. Bake the cake slowly until fully cooked.
  3. Let stand a good while after it is baked to develop flavors.
