Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 1 cup fruit cocktail
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9 x 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, beaten egg, and fruit cocktail until well combined.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. In a small bowl, combine brown sugar and chopped nuts, then sprinkle evenly over the batter.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
