Ingredients

  • 2 eggs, separated
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1/4 cup instant malted milk powder
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream, whipped
  • 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, beat egg yolks with milk.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine gelatin with 1/2 cup sugar.
  3. Blend in the milk and egg yolk mixture. Let stand for 1 minute.
  4. Cook over low heat, stirring to dissolve gelatin, about 5 minutes.
  5. Whisk in cocoa powder and malted milk powder. Transfer to a medium bowl and refrigerate for about 35 minutes until mixture mounds when dropped from a spoon.
  6. In a mixer bowl, beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
  7. Gradually add remaining 1/4 cup sugar and beat until stiff peaks form.
  8. Fold the beaten egg whites into the gelatin mixture, then fold in the whipped cream.
  9. Spoon the mixture into an 8 1/2 x 4 1/2-inch loaf pan and chill before serving.
