Garbage Casserole

A hearty, cheesy casserole combining seasoned ground beef, vegetables, and creamy cheese sauce, perfect for comforting family dinners or casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp. garlic
  • 1 (15 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 small pkg. cream cheese
  • 1 (8 oz.) container sour cream
  • 1 1/2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 c. cooked macaroni
  • 1/2 c. crumbled cheese crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In a medium skillet, brown ground beef, chopped onion, chopped bell pepper, and minced garlic.
  3. Drain excess fat from the skillet.
  4. Add tomato sauce to the beef mixture and cover.
  5. Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.
  6. In a small bowl, combine cream cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  7. Cook macaroni according to package instructions and drain.
  8. In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked macaroni, beef mixture, cream cheese mixture, shredded Cheddar cheese, and crumbled cheese crackers.
  9. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  11. Serve warm.
