German Chicken Supreme features tender chicken breasts marinated in a creamy sour cream sauce with lemon, garlic, and spices, baked with bread crumbs for a hearty, flavorful dish perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 6 boneless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups sour cream
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 4 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 teaspoons celery salt
  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped fine
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 to 3 cups bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except butter, bread crumbs, and shortening. Marinate the chicken in the refrigerator overnight.
  2. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Roll the marinated chicken in bread crumbs.
  3. Melt the butter and shortening. Pour half of the melted mixture over the chicken.
  4. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
  5. Add the remaining butter and melted mixture over the chicken.
  6. Bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until golden and cooked through.
  7. Serve hot, ideally with rice.
