Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 whole eggs
  • 3 cups sifted flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon mace
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups chopped fresh apples
  • 2 cups chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.
  2. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  3. Gradually mix in sifted flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and mace.
  4. Fold in chopped fresh apples and chopped pecans.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool before serving.
