Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 1/3 c. water
  • 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. dark molasses
  • 1 (9 oz.) pkg. frozen cut green beans, broken apart
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. cold water
  • hot cooked rice

Instructions

  1. Cook and stir ground beef and onion in a large skillet until the meat is browned and the onion is tender.
  2. Stir in garlic, water, soy sauce, and molasses; heat to boiling.
  3. Add green beans and heat to boiling.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 15 minutes.
  5. Blend cornstarch and cold water; stir gradually into the meat mixture.
  6. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and boils.
  7. Boil and stir for 1 minute.
  8. Serve over hot cooked rice and garnish with onion rings.
  9. Pass additional soy sauce if desired.
