Ingredients

  • round steak or flank steak
  • black ground pepper to taste
  • 2 Tbsp. oil
  • 1 can beef broth
  • onion flakes, minced (to taste)
  • 3 Tbsp. butter
  • 3 Tbsp. flour

Instructions

  1. Cut the beef into 1-inch strips.
  2. Cover the beef with ground black pepper to taste.
  3. Brown the beef in 2 tablespoons of oil.
  4. Add minced onion flakes and the can of beef broth to the pan.
  5. Cover and cook for 1 hour.
  6. Remove the steak from the pan and set aside.
  7. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in a small saucepan.
  8. Add 3 tablespoons of flour to the melted butter to make a paste.
  9. Add the flour mixture to the broth and turn up the heat.
  10. Stir constantly until the sauce thickens.
