Ingredients

  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 stick margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 8 oz. cream cheese, softened
  • 1 pound confectioners sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the cake mix, 1 egg, and softened margarine.
  3. Pat the mixture into a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  4. In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, confectioners sugar, 2 eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake mix layer in the pan.
  6. Sprinkle chopped pecans on top of the cream cheese layer.
  7. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until the top is golden and the filling is set.
  8. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
  9. Store in the refrigerator for best freshness.
