Ingredients

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 cup brown sugar, flour, milk, baking powder, salt, and raisins together.
  2. Pour the batter into a deep dish.
  3. Combine boiling water, butter, 1 1/2 cups brown sugar, and nutmeg to make the sauce.
  4. Pour the sauce over the batter in the dish.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 45 minutes.
  6. When putting into the oven, the batter is on the bottom and the sauce on top.
  7. When finished baking, invert the pudding so the sauce is underneath and the batter on top.
