Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 6 slices processed cheese
  • 3 Tbsp ketchup
  • Drop biscuits or 8 oz. refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 8 oz can tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over moderate heat.
  3. Add ground beef, salt, pepper, minced garlic, and chopped onion; cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is browned.
  4. Transfer the meat mixture to the bottom of a shallow 1 1/2-quart baking dish.
  5. Arrange slices of processed cheese over the meat layer.
  6. In a small bowl, combine tomato sauce, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce; blend well.
  7. Pour the sauce mixture over the cheese layer.
  8. Arrange biscuits in rows on top of the sauce.
  9. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until biscuits are baked through and tops are nicely browned.
