Ingredients

  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • flour
  • 1 1/2 lb. hamburger
  • 1 tsp. water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 can tomato soup
  • 1 small can tomato paste
  • 1 chopped onion
  • 1 c. chopped celery

Instructions

  1. Mix the first five ingredients — eggs, baking powder, salt, water, and flour — to form a stiff dough and roll into a rectangle.
  2. Combine hamburger, water, and salt; sprinkle with a little flour to help the mixture stick together.
  3. Spread the hamburger mixture evenly over the dough rectangle.
  4. Roll up the dough with the hamburger filling like a jelly roll.
  5. Cut the rolled dough into 1 1/2-inch slices.
  6. Mix the tomato soup, tomato paste, chopped onion, and chopped celery; simmer for about 35 minutes.
  7. Transfer the tomato mixture to a 9 x 13-inch baking dish, place the hamburger rolls on top, and add 1 pint of water.
  8. Bake in a slow oven for about 30 minutes.
