Instructions
- Wash cucumbers and slice them.
- Add sliced onions to the cucumbers.
- Sprinkle salt over the cucumbers and onions.
- Mix a tray of ice cubes with the pickles and onions and place another tray of ice on top. Let stand for 3 hours.
- Drain cucumbers, discarding the ice water.
- Combine vinegar, sugar, turmeric, mustard seed, and celery seed; bring to a boil.
- Add cucumbers to the boiling mixture and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Put the pickles into jars and seal.
