Tips & Substitutions

For deeper flavor, consider adding a splash of white wine while cooking the pork. If you don't have pork tenderloin on hand, chicken can be substituted for a lighter option. Fresh herbs like parsley can enhance the dish, while frozen vegetables can be used in place of fresh ones for convenience.

Serving Suggestions

This hearty pork soup pairs wonderfully with crusty bread or a side salad for a complete meal. It can also be served alongside Zucchini Supreme for a delightful combination. A sprinkle of fresh herbs on top before serving can elevate the presentation and flavor.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply warm it on the stove over medium heat until heated through. You can also microwave individual servings, but be sure to cover them to retain moisture.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this soup in advance?

Yes, this soup holds up well, and the flavors deepen when made a day ahead. Just store it in the refrigerator and reheat before serving. The pasta may absorb some broth, so you can add a bit more water or broth when reheating.

What can I substitute for the rotelle?

If you don’t have rotelle, you can use any small pasta shape like elbow macaroni or even rice. Just adjust the cooking time based on the pasta or rice you choose to ensure it is cooked perfectly.

Is this soup suitable for freezing?

Yes, this soup freezes well. To freeze, allow it to cool completely before transferring to freezer-safe containers. It can last for up to 3 months in the freezer. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator before reheating.
