Ingredients

  • 1 cup seedless raisins
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup soft butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs

Instructions

  1. Grease a baking sheet lightly.
  2. Start the oven 10 minutes before baking and set it to a moderately hot temperature of 400°F.
  3. Plump the raisins and let them cool.
  4. Chop the nuts.
  5. Cream the butter until shiny.
  6. Add sugar in two portions, mixing until smooth after each addition.
  7. Stir in the plumped raisins and chopped nuts well.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto the prepared cookie sheet using a teaspoon.
  9. Bake for 10 minutes or until the cookies are browned.
