Tips & Substitutions

For a twist, consider using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef for a lighter version. If you don't have chicken gumbo soup, a can of tomato soup mixed with some spices can work in a pinch. Ensure to mix the batter well to avoid lumps, and for a more savory flavor, add herbs like oregano or thyme.

Serving Suggestions

This Hidden Sloppy Joe pairs excellently with a simple side salad or steamed vegetables for a balanced meal. For a fun touch, serve with a side of sweet potato fries or chips. It also complements a tangy coleslaw well, enhancing the dish's flavor profile and adding a crunch.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes or until warmed through. You can also microwave individual portions for convenience, but the oven will keep the texture better.
