Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp. butter or margarine
  • 1 c. honey
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Tbsp. grated orange peel
  • 2 1/2 c. plain flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 c. orange juice
  • 3/4 c. chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Cream together butter and honey.
  2. Add egg and orange peel; beat well.
  3. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt.
  4. Add dry ingredients alternately with orange juice to the honey mixture.
  5. Mix in chopped nuts and prunes.
  6. Pour batter into a greased loaf pan (9 x 5 x 3 inches).
  7. Bake in a slow oven at 325°F for 1 hour.
