- Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a Dutch oven.
- Drain off the grease.
- Add the mushroom pieces and liquid, tomato juice, peeled and cubed potatoes, sliced carrots, green beans and their liquid, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, and thyme.
- Stir well and bring to a boil.
- Add the uncooked elbow macaroni and stir again.
- Cover and reduce heat to medium.
- Cook until the vegetables are tender, about 45 minutes.
